Camões, paraplegic cat for adoption

This is Camões. He has been paraplegic all his life. Life has not been easy, but he is a fighter. He can eat, drink and use the litter box, and he is full of tenderness and love, but he cannot jump, run or play with other cats, so he obviously loves human company. He is temporary living in a cats rescue center (gatil), but he won't be able to stay there for long, as the soil has lots of stones and he will eventually get serious wounds from them. He needs a less rough place where he can move around without hurting himself. He is around 5 months old and apart from his handicap, he is a healthy cat.

Baba, sweet young female for adoption

Baba was abandoned by the gypsies, badly treated, never educated, been living rough. Afraid of everything, but beginning to trust humans now. Ideally needs to be an only dog with someone who can give her "one-on-one" and get her trust. She is still very young, tiny (weighs around 8 kilos), would do very well in a small house or apartment, but she gets on well great with other dogs and cats, too.
She is now at the municipal kennel and she needs a home until she loses faith in humans for good.
She is sterilized and vaccinated.

Medronho, dog for adoption

This little dog was found still very young in Portimão and was rescued by Margarida Cardoso. Unfortunately she cannot keep him, as he does not get along with her other dog, he is a bit too agressive towards other dogs, but he is a sweet with people. He would be great as a guard dog. He is just around 1 year old.
If know one takes him, Margarida will have to take him to the municipal kennel and as he is quite agressive with other males, he will definitely be put to sleep. So this is a case of life or death. Who can save Medronho?

The owner of this sweet dog does not want him any longer. Now as no one is home most of the day and night and some weekends he is on a short chain. The neighbour had permission to water and walk him and then she asked to find another home for him as she just cannot keep him longer.

Texugo, unique and beautifull dog

This unique and beautiful dog was found lost or abandoned in the Algarve, very hungry for food and attention. He was wearing an old leather collar, but he has no microchip.
Texugo is still a very young dog (his teeth are very white and neat), but he has a skin infection (tinea), for which he is already being treated for and he it is estimated that in a month time he will be cured and well. He has a very docile and gentle temperament - we bathed him and dewormed him and he was always gentle. He is getting used to riding in the car, but he will have to learn to be on the lead. All he wants is play and attention. Very docile with other animals, too.
After the treatment, he will be a majestic, large, strong dog. He has beautiful skin colours.

He is at the Lagos Municipal Kennels, but he is confined to an interior kennel and that will kill him, as he lacks so much love and attention.

Beautiful pussy-cat was rescued from a 5 meter-high roof where she had been living for years!

She was named Duchess and she is georgeous, as you can see from the picture! For years she was a prisoner of a roof and no one dared to rescue her.
She was fed by the neighbours who used to throw food at her in plastic bags, which she had to tear apart into bits in order to get her food. She was carefully fed, it's true, but no one cared to rescue her from that miserable life.
Two years ago, the situation was reported to the local kennel, they sent someone there, but without success.
And so Duchess remained the prisoner of that desolate roof. The whole neighbourd knew about her, but they all thought it was her destiny to remain on that roof.

However, all was needed to rescue Duchess from her solitude, was a ladder, a cat's trap and Carina's strong love and determination. After all the indifference shown by the authorities who had the power and the means to save the poor cat, there was, finally, someone brave enough to spare some time and find the means to do it. A young woman on her own. Congratulations, Carina!

Duchess is now at Carina's, but like with some many cats before, she cannot keep her, as she has her won cats already.
Let's give a second opportunity to Duchess, let's help Carina find her a good home.
Duchess has proved she is up to her name. She quickly learned to properly eat in a cat's bowl and to use the litter box. She is a true member of royalty! She is also a very sweet and quiet cat, and lacks lots of love and attention after her long exile!

Xaninha, a very quiet and docile cat - ADOPTED

Xaninha belonged to a colony of docile cats that are now under the care of ADAP – Association for the Welfare of Animals, in Portimão. These cats were fed by Sr. Ermelindo, and according to him, she used to be the dominant female cat of the colony, the mother of all the others. However, once pregnant, she decided to step away from the colony and took shelter in someone’s plot of land, whose owner threatens now to shoot her. She has had her babies (who have been adopted) and she has also been sterilized, but she refuses to go back to the colony, showing hostility against the rest of the cats. If she is left there, she will probably go again to the place where the man threatens to shoot her. She is really docile, very quiet and her purrs are delicious. She deserves to have a family where she can be loved.

Xaninha has no vaccinations, but she is already sterilized. She is in a temporary home in Lagos.

Candy - super soft and sociable cat

This good looking and exquisite cat was found next to a factory, in Lagos. She lived off old bread that she found in the streets and in garbage containers. She was extremely thin so one of the factory workers brought her home, as he could no longer bear to see her like that.
He always intended to take her home temporarily, and now the time has come when it is really urgent to find her a new home. The family has another female cat and the two of them dispute the territory all the time. There is no way that the other cat will accept her. Candy simply wants to play, but the other refuses to be friendly. And then they really hurt each other. The other cat suffers from intense stress even when she is eating from fear that Candy will steal her food.
So, it is urgent that we find a new home for Candy.
Please help! She is a super soft and sociable cat who only wants to play and be loved. She is around one year old, maybe less.

Patusca, Lana and Eva are, unfortunately, some more victims of human cruelty. They have been found (soaked wet) in a rubbish container. They screamed for help, to escape such a cruel death. They are now being bottle-fed and all the care has been given to them, so that they won't miss their mom so much.
Lana is very sweet and quiet, she's always the first to fall asleep; Eva is the liveliest and happiest of all and Patusca is the balance between the two. She has a share of play, but she is also very quiet sometimes. They are 3 little sweets with a lot of love to give.

They are 3 weeks approx. (October 2nd). They are all female, two are completely black and the third one is black and white. They are in the Lagos area and, in due time, they will be spayed for adoption, in due time. They are going to have their first vaccinations and worm tablets soon.
